Responsibilities:
As a Gas and Burner Commissioning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in commissioning equipment to achieve optimal throughput, quality, and efficiency. Your responsibilities will include:
– Successfully commissioning systems and training operators and plant engineers on equipment and system controls.
– Collaborating with other engineering disciplines, including Electrical and PLC, to ensure project success.
– Setting up gas/diesel fired burners to achieve correct combustion settings using gas analysers and related tools.
– Working on gas/diesel fired heat exchangers, thermal oil heat exchanger systems, and steam heat exchanger systems.
– Conducting electrical repairs on system/equipment and performing I/O checks on electrical components.
– Carrying out valve checks on the system.
– Identifying root causes of problems and engineering on-site solutions.
– Providing technical support to customers over the phone.
– Demonstrating the ability to fault find under pressure.
– Assisting customers with emergency breakdowns, including short notice travel to various sites.
– Preparing site reports and presenting recommendations.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:
– Electrical Engineer with recognized qualifications or 10 years of electrical maintenance experience with 18th Edition accreditation.
– Proficiency in PLCs.
– Previous experience in the food industry is highly advantageous.
– Demonstrated ability to create Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
– Familiarity with AutoCAD is preferred (but not required).
– Knowledge of CE and Health and Safety requirements.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages (Word, Excel, etc.).
– Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
– Flexibility in approach to work.
– Extensive travel experience across EMEA.
– Additional language skills are a distinct advantage.
Location:
This position can be based anywhere in the UK; however, extensive travel throughout EMEA is a requirement. Access to a major airport would be advantageous.
